WHAT IS PILATES?

Pilates is a combination of yoga, western gymnastics, some dance techniques and principles of physical rehabilitation.

The benefits of Pilates method provides the body with more benefits than aerobic sports, since it not only seeks to burn fat and calories but also  stylizes and tones the body. It lengthens and strengthens its muscles, increases body awareness, creating more connection

between body and mind.

Pilates is a style of exercise that emphasizes breathing, mental focus, abdominal muscle exercises, and good posture. These are fundamental to yoga, Tai Chi, martial arts

and Chinese Qigong.

Pilates is a system of training that improves posture, reduces stress, and creates long, lean muscles without bulking up.

It's a balanced combination of strength

and flexibility.

Pilates works multiple muscle groups simultaneously through gentle, continuous movement, with a particular focus on strengthening and stabilizing the core.

Pilates takes a balanced approach to enable the body to function as an efficient and holistic system in sports and daily activity.

Pilates was created by the German Joseph Pilates in 1920, he wanted to combine his knowledge in yoga, ballet, traumatology and gymnastics in one practice.

Joseph Pilates invented a machine called "reformer" that he worked on for years to improve strength and

flexibility threw using resistance.

The machine consists of a sliding platform that moves

along a spring-loaded frame of adjustable resistance.

The person in it can perform a series of controlled, fluid movements that involve the entire body, working both the large muscles and the deeper stabilizers.
